In the United States we have some of the best protections for when it comes to cyber-attacks. However, a lot of other countries do not have this luxury whether it be from invasions of privacy from their own government or from unreliable research and funding into cybersecurity. On the extreme end of government invasion of privacy, you have North Korea, then less extreme but still there you have China.
First, The United States is known as the “free country” so by that you are free do whatever you want if you abide by the specific laws set in place, which are reasonable laws. The people of the U.S. are not in fear of constant government watch over their network traffic. You are allowed to look up whatever you want, you can also post pretty much anything you want, there are very limited things that which you cannot look up or post. The U.S. has many groups in place to provide cybersecurity to the people for example the NSA and CIA are both groups that provide cybersecurity to the people. Furthermore, there are also independent groups that provide security so you’re not only reliant on the government.
Next China, the people of China are at a greater risk of cyber-attacks. This is because China has a lot less government protection agencies that protect the people from large scale cyber-attacks. Furthermore, something they also lack more than the U.S. is independent cybersecurity agencies, the lack in this causes more people in China to be at risk from large to small scale attacks posing a huge risk for people and their sensitive information.
Lastly, an extreme example is a country like North Korea they have an extreme government watch, and you are not allowed to watch certain things, and everything is censored. This poses a huge security risk, everything you have is watched over, and censored so nothing is private.
