Journal #2

One major I would say that is offered by ODU and how those majors relate to cybersecurity and one another is Computer Science is closely related to cybersecurity as it provides a strong foundation in programming, algorithms, and system architecture. Students in this major gain knowledge about how software and systems work, which is essential for understanding vulnerabilities and creating secure software.
The second major is Information Systems and Technology I was originally going to make this my major instead of cybersecurity but this major focuses on the management and application of information technology in organizations. Understanding how information systems are structured and managed is vital for cybersecurity professionals. Information Systems and Technology majors learn about network infrastructure, databases, and system administration, which are key components of cybersecurity.

Another Major would be Criminal Justice because I am in a criminology class right now and there are alot of cybersecurity majors in that class so that is one reason to why they can relate to one another and with cybersecurity there are crimes that can be made such as “white colored crime” and 3/4 of crimes is “white colored crime” but street crime is picked up more often and televised. This major provides insights into the legal aspects of cybersecurity, including laws and regulations related to cyber activities. Students learn investigative techniques for identifying and prosecuting cybercriminals. Understanding the legal framework surrounding cybersecurity

The next major would be Electrical Engineering as this is appropriate to cybersecurity due to its focus and priority on the design and analysis of hardware systems. Cybersecurity involves securing not only software but also the underlying hardware infrastructure.
