I am interested in cybersecurity technology as I have always been fascinated with computers, electronics, and the ability to access so much information from just a few clicks and keystrokes of a keyboard.  I will not omit; I fantasize being an ethical hacker and try to fight crime like we all see in tv shows; however, I know that is not usually the daily role of a normal cybersecurity specialist.  I also gained a lot of interest when watching a TV show called Mr. Robot, which inherently is a fictional show, but has so many glaring realities that show how vulnerable we, as everyday technological users are exposed to so many risks and vulnerabilities as we are just so careless with our technological power.  We share an alarming amount of information, some that we regret, and we never can cover it up forever as it is always going to be accessible in the cloud some way or another.  Advantageously, I seek to pursue my degree in cybersecurity, graduate, and apply it in the Marine Corps.  I am currently on a commissioning program as an active-duty Marine.  Upon graduation, I will commission and I hope to land a job within the Marines as a cybersecurity analyst, intelligence officer, and/or a cyber surety specialist.  With this in mind, I know that to obtain a special and quite unique job like those in the military, it would help to bring a special certification of cybersecurity as it will set me up for success toward my future career endeavors.  With lessons gathered from cybersecurity, I also hope to fortify my ability to protect myself and others from cybercrime and unethical means to exploit the people I care for.  I plan to pursue my masters in cybersecurity after obtaining my degree in order to further educate myself and become an ethical tool toward America’s protection and societal integrity.
