My major is in cybersecurity so they share the relation of being the same thing, I chose this course to better my knowledge of cybersecurity. I chose this major because I took many courses in high school dealing with cybersecurity, it became interesting later turning into a profession. I know a lot about the basics and terms of the cybersecurity realm but to truly learn how to perform the same tasks and learning to implement these terms to real situations is extremely satisfying. A great reason I decided to major in cybersecurity is because I was recommended that this profession is the “next big thing” or the “profession of the future” as these quotes fueled the hype to prompt me to join the profession. Cybersecurity is also very popular to my local area, not only did this give influence to me but to many of my close friends, it is very hard not to chose the same paths as such close peers. I have never found interest in many things in life, but something about being able to better myself at technology as a profession sounds like the best thing to do, that is how I view cybersecurity, this gives me such good tools for my belt since technology is the forefront of future for the next generations to come. If I had to choose another major besides cybersecurity, I would probably choose something to do with marine life, I find interest in the water and all of the possible animals or sights I could see, I would always be in a hot area with a cool beach next to me, that would be a great living for me and as well as to contribute to our ecosystem. Speaking of pros for different professions, I am pretty sure cybersecurity jobs require not much physical interaction, so I could potentially work from home, which is a huge plus!

Freewrite: When I looked up my name I found old records of my athletics in high school, those were great times. I also found someone with an almost identical name to mine who played the same sports I did, pretty cool information. Some other things I found were random other names similar to mine, it’s nice to see that my digital footprint isn’t that big. Others could learn that I use to play sports, maybe strike up conversation with that topic or many others.
