This course focused on the basic of working in a Linux environment. There were various lab assignments that required the use of a virtual machine. The first lab assignment was to install Oracle VM VirtualBox. After doing that, we had the choice of using Ubuntu or Kali Linux to complete further assignments.

In the above figure, you can see my Oracle Virtual Box and some of the virtual machines I created. If you look closely, there is a cloned VM. In one of our final chapters, we went over advanced networking. We used a client and server setup to accomplish tasks; one was connecting the client and host to the same internal network.
Networking is not all we learned about. Below you will see some of the shell scripting that I did.
With each lab, we built upon previously learned skills. For example, lab 4 consisted of managing user accounts and groups. Shortly after, we tackled file permissions, learning the different methods for assigning permissions and what said permissions do.
Overall, this class was very hands-on. With every assignment came new challenges that were tedious all the while exciting to overcome. With more practice, I could see myself working with this knowledge in my professional career.
