The way that Cybersecurity Technology has created opportunities for workplace deviance is by way of white-collar and cybercrimes. With white collar crimes as per the notes form the module describes this form of crime as being the most elite type of deviance. This category of crime allows for the crime committed in tech to occur in a workplace. Such as committing crimes that are tech related and more business oriented such as over polluting the environment and false advertising. Deviance that cybersecurity technology creates in the workplace allows business and employees to be put a great risk. The deviance that takes place in the workplace allows for this type of crime to become more prevalent than ever before especially if it begins to go unnoticed. Without being caught this can cause a greater issue for the company and make them vulnerable to any attacks that may be thrown their way. The deviance that is taken place in the office allows for further deviance to occur and this could possibly make it harder for the company to progress on in the present and future. BYOD is an example that I am going to use when it comes to workplace deviance, bringing your own device can mean that people aren’t using them for what they are intended for on that day, employees can be using them to cause and create more deviance from their own personal device. By doing that it makes it harder to track who it is rather than going to their computer in the office and searching it for the evidence that they need. Another issue that may arise with BYOD can be that people are using their phones for other things and allowing the workday to pass by and not do any work that they are permitted to do. They could also be taking picture of confidential information and sending it out to their friends and whoever else they might be on the phone talking to.
