1. Describe three ways that computers have made the world safer and less safe.

2. How do engineers make cyber networks safer?

In today’s society, almost every part of our day revolves around computers. I believe computers have made our world safer and easier to live in. There are many advantages of computers and ways it has benefited us to make our world a better place. But not all things are good with computers; many disadvantages come with them also. One of the most noticeable advantages of technology in our life would focus on education, especially during this pandemic. Due to the advancement of technology, distance learning has helped students complete their educational careers easier. In modern settings, distance learning provides students the flexibility to choose times and locations to attend class and study at their convenience. While blended courses offer students the opportunity to take both on-campus and online courses simultaneously, students can also participate in fully online courses. Students complete assignments, use discussion boards, online view videos and communicate through the Internet instead of in a classroom. Another advantage of our technology would be communication. Our technology is advancing has led us to the many new ways of electronic communication, social networking, voicemails, emails, and even video conferences. This has helped us reduce time on getting information where it needs to go. Also beneficial for our relationships, education purposes, and businesses. Communication is a big part, and they allow people to stay in touch, especially for those who have members of their family deploy overseas. Communication is key to keeping relationships alive. On the other hand, the most significant disadvantage of technology would be a distraction. Modern technological devices and gadgets are the most distracting things nowadays. Smartphones, video games, television people mainly used and these things are the most distracting and engaging technological devices. It distracts people from their work, study, and many more, and the results are they waste most of the time by using these devices instead of work or study. 

It’s no surprise that faulty software often leaves networks vulnerable to malware, spyware, adware, phishing, and more. Therefore, it is a job for a security engineer to analyze computer networks, ensure they’re running securely, and foresee possible security issues that may arise in the future. In short, security engineering focuses on designing computer systems equipped to deal with disruptions like natural disasters and malicious cyber attacks. Cybersecurity engineers are required to perform assessments and penetration testing; provide development and implementation of secure network solutions by architecting and engineering trusted systems into closed systems, and manage audit/intrusion and security technology systems.
