Data breaches and cyber attacks are known to cost a business millions of dollars depending on how big and or critical the data breach and cyber attack level is. Depending on the amount of information and how top secret, classified, strictly unauthorized, and important it was when it was compromised. A specific business could spend an average of a few billion dollars due to losing personal information of customers, associates, and any other sensitive data thanks to a dangerous data breach.
Having a data breach can not only affect a business. When a business or a small organization becomes a victim to a cyber attack or a data breach, it can potentially cause them to lose their customer database as well. When that happens normally, they more than likely develop financial loss due to the lack of business they are getting. All of these can lead to more issues than you need because at that point you would have no choice but to shut down the business or organization permanently.
I personally believe that businesses should suggest investing in cybersecurity and develop strategy and contingency plans. This could benefit a business in the future to prepare for an upcoming cyber attack or data breach before it happens and or handles it. This method will also improve an element of safety for a business’s customer database. So that way it can begin being able to protect and safeguard all personal, confidential, classified, sensitive data not just for the customers, but for the business and job company as well. Properly coaching and educating potential employees on the different types of cyber risk and threats can have them potentially encounter, interact, and developing a proper procedure if an attack or breach is detected on the radar. A team of professionals should always be on standby at any time.
