It is said that criminal justice and cyber crime are very much alike and different in various ways, but more often times than not , they are alike and share the same characteristics, cyber crime is dealing with identity theft, card theft, insurance fraud, hacking, treason piracy, cyberstalking, malware, security hacker, phishing, denial of service, bot net, and so many others meanwhile Criminal justice, deals with all of that because one deals with computer crime while the other deals with everything. I for one believe that they correlate because that they are both different topics in very different categories, but I think cyber crime is more in depth with the technological issues of it and criminal justice talks about more of it all in general, whether if it’s a misdemeanor, a felony, or anything cyber related. This overlap can correlate to a bunch of felonies like insurance fraud and identity theft. Insurance fraud for example, if you have a cyber insurance policy that has online fraud coverage with a $15,000 policy limit and a $500 deductible, and you were the victim of an online scam and donated $2,000 to a fake charity, you would get an insurance check for $1,500 ($2,000 minus $500 deductible). One of the major key risks of identity theft is that Criminal identity theft can create a myriad of headaches for the victim after the fact. Though a less common from of fraud, a thief could get caught for a traffic violation or a misdemeanor and sign the citation with your name. Then you get stuck paying those annoying fees and fines.
