Journal Entry #4

To compare cybersecurity risks from the U.S. to other countries there is defiantly a difference from the U.S. and other countries. It seems like global threats seem to have a leader, that help guide the strategies of the cyber-attack.  It seems like Germany and the UK have had the highest cyber encounters compared to the United States. The United States and the Netherlands are both tied the second highest cyber encounters. Germany and the United Kingdom a ton of malware incidents, it seems organizations need to be on more of alert. Though it seems like China and the Netherlands had the highest cyber criminals and organized crime in their countries. Though France had the highest percentage in malicious employees. The United States had the third highest percentage in cyber terrorists and hacktivists. The United Kingdom had the highest percentage in cyber terrorists and hacktivists. United States and Australia had the highest percentage in Trusted third parties. Then when it comes to phishing, malware, and ransomware, the highest percentages would be with China and Germany. The United States seemed to be in the middle with percentages involving phishing, malware, and ransomware. Something to think about is the actual impact of that cyber incidents can impact. A lot of people don’t even think about the aftermath of a cyber attack and how it affects the situation. Though it looks like the U.S., Australia, and United Kingdom, had the highest financial impacts compared to everyone else. The wildest part is the United States had the biggest impact with all three categories which were operational disruption, brand damage, and financial impact (2023).  After going through al of this research it seems in my opinion that, United States doesn’t have the worst incidents compared to other countries. It definitely is very eye opening to see how there are so many other countries suffer from these cyber-attacks.
