Journal #11

Assignment:

Read this article and write a journal entry summarizing your response to the article on social cybersecurity.

Answer:

The cybersecurity analyst job relates to social behaviors because in entry level positions you work with a lot of people. Whether it is helping them after a phishing attack, patching up a computer so it is secure, or teaching the employees on how to be safer in cyberspace, the cybersecurity analyst will need to talk and teach the employees. You are essentially making sure that employees do not get “hacked” themselves and you teach them on how to find suspicious activity. An analyst would probably try and figure out which of the employees are more extroverted, since they are more willing to take higher risks, and would then talk to them on how to be more secure and take less risks. I also find the thought of hacking the person and not the computer very interesting because in most cases it is the person who is the problem and not the actual computer or anti-virus. If we can teach employees how to be safer and teach them on how to prevent them from being hacked, companies would be much safer. I also believe that when teaching employees we should try to formulate the sentences to make it sound like the person themself is being hacked and not the computer, this way people will be more careful and attentive because the thought of oneself being hacked is not a pleasant one.
