Answer:
Andriy Slynchuk describes eleven things that Internet users do that may be illegal. These eleven things are: Using unofficial streaming services, using torrent services, using copyrighted images, sharing passwords, addresses, or photos of others, bullying and trolling, recording a VoIP call without consent, faking your identity, using other people’s internet networks, collecting information about children, extracting audio from YouTube, illegal searches on the internet. All of these things are illegal for a reason and it is to protect other people from harm.
The five most serious violations however, in my opinion, are the sharing of passwords, addresses, and pictures of others, bullying and trolling, faking your identity, collecting information about children, and illegal searches on the internet.
The sharing of passwords or addresses of someone can be very dangerous especially if the victim is hated by many people. This violation could lead to an injury or even the death of the victim. For example if the victim had done something to wrong a person and their address were then leaked, said person that was wronged might try and attack the doxx victim.
Cyberbullying and trolling on the Internet is also very dangerous. This could lead to the victim becoming very depressed and might cause them to harm themselves. In very serious cases this could even lead to suicide.
Faking one’s identity can also be very dangerous. In cases like these usually someone underage is lying about their age. This can lead to some serious issues. For example if someone underage lied and said that they were 18 but are in fact only 16 they could get someone else in a lot of trouble if they do something inappropriate. If someone unknowingly did something sexual with the 16 year old they will be sent to jail. Of course this could have been avoided if the other person had not lied about their age.
Another serious violation would be the collection of children’s data. Children are innocent and often do not know not to share their information online to strangers. This can be commonly seen on the children’s online game “Roblox”. Time and time again children sharing their information to grown ups have become victims to grooming. In some extreme cases the children even visited the person that they were chatting with. Sadly, on “Roblox”, you can see why the collection of children’s data without the parents’ consent can be very dangerous for the children.
The fifth most serious violation to me are the illegal searches on the internet. While some might say they are just searching something because they are curious how it is done, like how an atomic bomb is built, others might actually try to recreate the illegal searches they have done. Some might research how to make makeshift weapons and use these to commit other terrible crimes, while others might try and find child-pornography. These searches can be very dangerous. However luckily there are algorithms in place to flag the person that has researched something illegal. This algorithm ensures that said person is monitored to ensure that they do not at least look for more illegal searches.
