No matter if it’s for the better or for worse, people can “hack” other people a lot easier nowadays due to cyberspace. A lot of people still read things and just believe it without thinking about what they have read critically. I also find it interesting how they defined what types of hacking there are. There are positive and negative changes to influences in cyberspace. For knowledge network manipulation there is engagement, explanation, excitement, and enhancement. These are all positive and can change the person’s view of a topic for the better or make them more involved in said topic. On the other hand the negative influences are dismiss, distort, dismay, and distract. These influences can make a person feel like a topic is less important than it is giving said topic a worsened image than it actually deserves. While the positives and negatives of the influences in social network manipulation are the same, it has different types of influences. The positive ones are back, build, bridge and boost, while the negative ones are neutralize, nuke, narrow, and neglect.

Source: https://www.uni-ulm.de/universitaet/hochschulkommunikation/presse-und-oeffentlichkeitsarbeit/unimagazin/online-ausgabe-uni-ulm-intern/uni-ulm-intern-nr-354-dezember-2020/schwerpunkt-wissenschaftskommunikation/fake-news/

Assignment: Read this article and write a journal entry summarizing your response to the article on social cybersecurity.
