In this article, it is discussed how cybercrime has been on the rise in Indonesia and how it is affecting its people. Within the article, there have been tests run to explore this problem and its findings.
This article can be related to the social science principles seen in the modules. This can relate to criminology because these are acts of cybercriminals and the crime is done for money. Geography also plays a role in influencing this social phenomenon because this is a result of the fast technological increase within Indonesia. All of these play a part in the psychology, sociology, and economics parts of social sciences.
This article hypothesizes that because of the technological increase in Indonesia, has led to Indonesia being the country with the highest risk of cybercrime. They tested this by conducting a literature review on other countries’ history of cybercrime and their responses to it. The United Kingdom, for example, invested two billion dollars into increasing their cybersecurity when they saw an increase in cybercrime similar to Indonesia’s. They also looked at Nigeria’s response to a similar issue in cybersecurity and Nigeria responded by enacting several laws concerning cybersecurity.
The information within this article will help aid future Indonesian corporations that are seeking help with cybercrime. It can help by enhancing the knowledge of cybercrimes and why they happen by filling in research gaps done by other studies.

This article about the cybersecurity challenges present in the digital workplace is heavily focused on the geography and the relationship between people and their environment. This article points out the fact that most research about cybersecurity is done in the United States and that leaves gaps in information about cybersecurity in countries like Saudi Arabia. It also highlights other social science principles such as sociology, psychology, and criminology.
The question the research is trying to answer is, how do the cybersecurity obstacles present in the digital workplace effect Saudi Arabia’s organizations? They did this by conducting a literature review seeking to comprehend the cybersecurity challenges faced by the employees. They found that because the digital workplace has become the new standard for business that it is now the most susceptible to issues. The worst issue is the human element and they found that the employees are usually the weakest link within the digital workplace. They also conducted interviews on the employees and took their responses into account when finalizing the data.
This article can be used in the future to enhance the knowledge about what hackers and cybercriminals do to attack digital workplaces. This can be used at companies to know what to train your employees on what they need to be wary of such as spear phishing attacks and other tactics discussed in the article.
