Based off the information provided in the journal, I have realized that society in cybersecurity is very similar to cybersecurity related to our military. Concepts that are derived from protecting information, the difference is that some information can be used to exploit a country a larger level oppose to someone hacking a Facebook page. The outcome can be more detrimental and effect more people at a higher scope for example war. Both utilize strategic concepts seeking vulnerabilities to attack an organization. Within a cyber war at the military level a countries main goal is to seek the most information and use that toward their advantage  for a personal gain(for a country). Countries such as Russia has used the information they have found to attempt to tear down national institutions to create a divide within a country.

This is so different from the world that most people are a customed to, we can date back to all the previous wars in the world and see that the battle was on the battlefield. Those days are long gone to where now wars have become a complete game of chess, that seeks the enemies information and attacks strategically instead of just when to attack on a battlefield. The use of technology was not present in the previous wars that we learned about in elementary school. This is now the case for the everyday American. People have to go through great measures and procedures just to prevent their information from getting in the wrong hands and becoming a victim.
