I assume that everyday there is at least millions of people in the world that are both knowingly and unknowingly breaking the law through internet use. For those of us that are like me who may be frequently breaking the law unknowingly therefore it is highly encouraged to do some research on these laws, to avoid some potentially jail time.
Some people may not be aware of all the laws for internet use that they may consider harmless themselves but in reality, can be federal crimes such as copy righted images or videos. Copyrighted photos happen so frequently due to people not wanting to pay the high cost of photos or images. Which may be understandable, yet it is still illegal and something you should be mindful of prior to making a post on Facebook or Instagram that can lead to you getting sued. Paying a photographer or maybe even investing in a camera of your own can potentially save one a world of headache.
Some may also be unaware or maybe they know that it is illegal to use unofficial streaming services on the internet for TV shows or movies. I would believe this is the most frequent law broken with internet use. Not only is this illegal to engage in unofficial streaming service use but it is also a risky behavior that can be harmful to you and all your personal information stored on your device. Hints the sketchy dating website attached to the movie you’re watching telling you “I’m two miles away from you, let’s hang out!” which is a scam tactic. I will admit that I believed that I have previously used unofficial services, that have led to viruses on my computer, so it’s best to stay away.
