From looking through the NICE Framework I have found a couple of career areas that I am interested in. The first one is Cyber Investigation. I am interested in this career because it allows me to use my critical thinking skills to help solve why an attack was committed and how it was done. I would really like to apply for a position within the Department of Homeland Security one day and this is one type of career I feel I can do for 20+ years. Another type of career path I am interested in is system administration. Getting to work on hardware installation, deployment, and maintenance of a firms IT systems would an interesting career. I really enjoy troubleshooting problems and solving them. I also have a deep fascination with the latest technologies. On the flip side, a career I do not want to do is customer service or technical support. I have spent a great deal of my younger years doing that and I do not want to do that line of work again. I hope through my time at ODU I will gain a better understanding of the various career options open to me and one day I can attain a career in cybersecurity.
