Read this https://dojmt.gov/wp-content/uploads/Glasswasherparts.com_.pdf sample breach letter “SAMPLE DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION” and describe how two different economics theories and two different social sciences theories relate to the letter.
Concerning the Sample Data Breach Notification letter, the economic theories related to this letter would be the Marxian Theory and the Laissez-Faire Theory. The Marxian Theory explains that people that have power, money and resources (higher class) can exploit people of lower classes for their economic gain. Sensitive information was exposed because the company had prioritized making money over protecting other assets, by showing more favor for the company’s interests instead of making sure that customer information was secure. The Laissez-Faire Theory expresses that the government should have a small part in economic affairs. This promotes companies operating freely. The letter relates to this theory because, if some federal rules or protocols were enforced, then the breach would have been found sooner, or the company would have had a stronger security system.
In relation to social theories that relate to the letter, first I would mention relativism. The decision on how to handle the situation may vary among the customer, the organization, or federal agencies, but relativism agrees that each of their views is valid morally. The customer may prefer to be notified immediately, the organization may wait until the issue is resolved before notifying customers, and federal agencies may also agree to properly investigate. Another would be the social contract theory in which the customers trusted the company to keep their information safe, and by not informing them of the breach immediately tarnishes the relationship between the two.
