Review the articles linked with each individual motive in the presentation page or slide #4.  Rank the motives from 1 to 7 as the motives that you think make the most sense (being 1) to the least sense (being 7).  Explain why you rank each motive the way you rank it.

1. Political: When it comes to candidates and everything that comes with it, people like to dig up dirt or anything that can hurt the other candidate that they are up against. When it is something this big, I feel it would be at the top of the list.
2. For Money: In a world where anyone needs motive to do anything, money would be the first thing that they do anything for. To not get caught is a plus for them but most likely this is at the top for me as well due to in the minds of people who do things for gain it would be money.
3. Revenge: Number three goes to revenge, I put this at the top as well due to for most people the only way to get even is to get revenge, but they can’t get it in the regular sense, so they go online and commit these types of crimes.
4. Entertainment: The world we live in now is much different than it was years ago, to pit people against each other you can just go online, and it will start he say she say conversation and the person who started it gets entertainment out of it. I chose this for number four because I see it online all the time of things that are not true and started for this reason.
5. Recognition: I chose this as number five because I feel some people do not do the crimes that they do for recognition. Now since it is a cyber world, people like to put tags or their cyber name on stuff that people would not think about. But there are a few who do want the recognition and that is the downfall.
6. Multiple Reasons: Not knowing the reason for what drives someone to do something is probably the ultimate worse but also, I put this at the bottom of my list due to it can be a psychological problem or an ego problem. Someone can target someone who looks like someone who turned them down and just start committing crimes online due to the hurt that they felt by the one person they probably should have told hurt them.
7. Boredom: It would be crazy to say, “Who bullies or commits crimes online due to being bored” That answer would get so much feedback due to people really do it. But I put this on the bottom due to yes people at the end of the day are hackers and some have goals, and some do not but I did this as least because I never would have thought this would be at the top of list even though the motive for it can still happen.
