Davin Teo’s pathway into digital forensics sounds very similar to others that have followed their passion even if it took them away from their home. David mentions becoming involved in IT and that slowly opened doors which led him to digital forensics. He didn’t start out wanting to pursue a career in this specialized field. Through hard work, David was offered a position at Australia’s first cyber security company as it was being formed. He mentions that he didn’t even know what digital forensics was when he accepted but he enjoyed his work thus far in IT so he took a chance. David is a great example of what following your passion can do and what opportunities it can present. Most of us, including myself, focus on a stable job with a decent salary because it does take money to obtain financial security. The truth is that money tends to come whenever you pursue your passion because you go all in which takes guts and passion. These two qualities will separate you from others in your field.
