Instruction: Complete the Social Media Disorder scale  How did you score?  What do you think about the items in the scale?  Why do you think that different patterns are found across the world?

Response: When answering the Social Media Disorder scale honestly, I scored a 5/9 with preoccupation, withdrawal, persistence, deception and escape being the five characteristics I experience with in Social Media. I believe that these characteristics fit the questions well but may not be exact just because one answers yes to feeling bad when not on social media doesn’t necessarily equate to withdrawal. I believe that different patterns are found across the world due to the digital divide and the internet culture differences between the western world and the eastern world. The way that the west world relies on internet is different than the eastern world.
