Although I don’t have many key skills concerning the Cybersecurity major/ field yet, since I recently switched my major from Laboratory Sciences to Cybersecurity, I’ve gained various leadership traits and cooperative skills from previous programs I’ve participated in. The first major program I was a member of was Hargrave Military Academy in 2014 located in Chatham, Virginia. Hargrave Military Academy is a private school, but I attended their summer program where I took classes in Robotics and Leadership. Another major program that I attended was called NYLF: Medicine that was hosted at the University of Maryland in 2016, and the sequel to the program in 2017 that was hosted by John Hopkins University in Maryland. At both of these programs, I learned not only better traits and characteristics to make me a better leader, but I also gained skills to better my cooperation with other people in a group or organization. Aside from these programs, I have experience with customers firsthand, although I was only a team crew member for McDonalds twice. Whenever I receive a task, I complete it with the best of my ability, but if I ever need help then I have no issue with asking my coworkers or teammates for assistance because I believe the task at hand is more important than trivial judgments or emotions such as pride. The skills that I have include characteristics such as being open minded to different opinions, having a cooperative attitude that allows me to work better with various personalities, I’m a hard worker and make sure to constantly improve my work ethic along with how I react to situations in the environment, I have the ability to learn fairly quickly and retain information very well and I have customer service experience which can aid me with speaking to customers and representing the business or company I’m working for. Along with these skills, I have the confidence to carry out tasks efficiently, and have often been told that I have a customer service voice that increases my communication skills with customers, which also makes it easier to find solutions to their problems.
