CYSE 270
I have taken other classes with Dr. Shobha Vatsa and they have all been very interactive and very beneficial in determining what I have been wanting to do with my cybersecurity degree. Focusing on the CYSE 270 class, I have grown a liking to Linux operation and this class gave me the opportunity to dip my toes into ethical hacking and how to use the OS that many ethical hackers use to perform their attacks. I took this class along side with CYSE 301 and the stuff I learned from CYSE 270 help me a lot in the basic operations I needed to complete tasks with Metasploit, John the Ripper, and other types of tools that come built in with Linux.
I believe after taking this class I am wanting to aim more towards the ethical hacking side of cybersecurity because there is an unbelievable amount of potential with finding and pointing out potential vulnerabilities that I can find within a network. I also love Dr. Shobha Vatsa’s classes and will be taking more of her classes in the future. My first class with her was a virtual class that met for zoom meetings, and now knowing that she is on campus and does in person classes, helps out when I need help with almost any Linux or programming issue. I cannot wait to take another class with Dr. Shobha Vatsa!
