Week1 Journal Entry

1.   Am I an entrepreneur?

  • To start off, I believe that an entrepreneur is someone who likes to invent/create a niche. They’re a special group of individuals who have a passion for solving a certain proble and then create something solve the issue. Not to discredit myself, I do not see myself as an entreprenuer. There’s issues all around me and I never sought the urge to create a business or invent a tool to resolve the issues that I’ve encounter. Not saying that I am lazy, I believe that the amount of stress on being an entrepreneur would take its toll on me.

2. What is Success?

  • I believe that success is the inverse of dissappointment. It’s the situation with having accomplished and achieved a goal. Finding lasting success implies  the accomplishment of wanted dreams and arraged objectives. Moreover, achievement can be a sure economic wellbeing that depicts a prosperous individual that could likewise have acquired popularity for its great result. 

3. Am I a self starter? How Well do I follow through with my ideas?

  • Yes I like to believe that I am a self starter. As of right now, I work as an Logistics Analyst at the Dollar Tree/ Family Dollar Corporate office in Chesapeake. We run through a ton of issues; some that can be resolved within minutes, some it can take a couple of days because I may have to add other parties involved in order to resolve an issue. For the issues that may take longer than usual, I strive to be proactive and reach out to correct point of contacts by explaining the issue that is occuring and brainstorming on solutions. In my current role, I take the intiative to imporve my skills; technical or soft skills. When it comes to technical, I sought out my system analysts coworkers to learn more about what they do on the day to day basis along with learning new skills such as SQL. 

4.     How does ODU view entrepreneurship?

  • I believe that ODU views entrepreneurship as a strong career path and is willing to assist anyone who is wanting to learn more about what entrepreneurship actually is along with assisting individuals who want to start up a business. There is a  program within ODU is open to all students. The program will provide you the skills and knowledge needed in order to prepare for your career inclinations.

5.     What is my role in this ecosystem?

  • I think my role in the ecosystem is to do my part by maintaining a good habitat for a large selection of species. Do this by not littering and returning wildlife (if applicable) to its natural habitat. By not littering, humans are showing respect for others, theirselves along with enviornment. Can also save multiple millions of dollars when it comes clean up costs. By doing this, we can prevent any harm to animals on land or the ocean and also prevent stunt growth in plants.
