Why do entrepreneurs get in trouble with the law?

   I think entrepreneurs get in trouble with the law in a few different ways.  First, is the way they set up their business.  I think that entrepreneurs just run to the easiest and cheapest way to start a company and either never look into the differences or don’t change it when they have been in business for a while.  The entrepreneur also gets into trouble when it comes to paying the correct amount of taxes.  Taxes are probably a major way they get into trouble.  They also get into trouble if the entrepreneur’s idea is too closely related  to another company’s idea, breaking trademark and intellectual property rights and laws.  They also face issues with civil lawsuits from customers and landlords.  This is a reason the entrepreneur should have a good tax person and have an idea which lawyer firm they will use when faced with any kind of legal issue.

What does psychology have to do with marketing?

   What does psychology have to do with marketing, it helps marketing companies with their campaigns.  The marketing companies use psychology to help perfect the campaigns to sway the most people.  The companies use ideas of psychology to help make people want to buy or subscribe to a service. Psychology studies human behavior, so if you can use the information from this discipline to help understand how people do what they do.  Like in the module people are not always rational decision makers, therefore if you can learn how to affect their decisions toward your idea.  An example from the module, using framing with how much you will win or gain shows to have an impact on the people who watch the marketing campaigns.

What types of marketing sway my decisions?

   One of the ways as stated before is framing.  Framing is where you market something towards a positive way.  The module says marketing it towards how much you will gain or save.  This way of framing a way from negative.  Even if the information is the same but just delivered in a positive way shows to better affect peoples’ decisions.  Another marketing way is more a macro way this way is diffusion. This is where you differ your strategy differently depending where and when you are in the process. This is because there are different named groups that you have to change the marketing strategy towards which group you are trying to convert toward your idea.  These groups are innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority, and laggards.

How can I pitch ideas better?

   After this module, I can look into the psychology of marketing.  This module opened my eyes a little more to how marketing works.  I knew that marketing tried to make people to  choose the product they are pitching, but I did not know that it was this crazy studied.  I will have to work on which of the four p’s that my idea at time will be more effective. I might not just use one p but multiple aspects of the four p’s to be more effective.  I will have to do way more research on who I am pitching the idea to and hopefully figure out the best way to affect that person or group of people.  The truth is that anything I change is better than and more than I have done before, because I have never tried to pitch an idea.  This module opened my eyes so if I use anything will help me start off on a better foot.

What are my strengths and weaknesses in pitching?

  My weaknesses are not known.  I have never tried to pitch an idea of any kind to anyone.  This would make the most obvious weakness no experience with doing it.  This inexperience is a weakness because I have never had the opportunity to try it.  I do not know what goes on or how to pitch the idea to anyone.  It is one of the things that probably comes easier and more effective with experience.  The only strength or advantage that I might have is access to prior knowledge of how marketing works.  This module as stated before has opened my eyes more to the field of marketing.  The amount of information and what has gone into the study of people and how they can be swayed.  The information is out there on how to get data to help make my point or show how my idea will be helpful.  This knowledge could be used to better prepare me to make the best pitch possible even without the prior experience with making idea pitches.
