Am I an entrepreneur?

Although I currently do not propose solutions on a business or marketable level yet, I do believe I am a novice entrepreneur in that I strive to solve any problems as they arise. When approached with an issue, rather than ignoring it and hoping it fixes itself or that somebody else fixes it, I will begin to research and brainstorm ways that I could potentially help solve the problem.

What is success?

Success is the accomplishment of a particular goal or group of goals, and to be successful is to be someone who sets these goals and works to achieve them. While many people believe that failure leads to an unsuccessful outcome, it is actually a steppingstone toward ultimate success because it serves as a learning experience and leads to important adjustments being made.

Am I a self-starter? How well do I follow through on my ideas?

I believe I can learn to be a better self-starter. Currently, I often have many ideas and projects I want to go through with. However, oftentimes I either lack the knowledge or motivation to fully go through with them. But just like any other type of problem I face; I am working toward finding the solutions to these so that I may have the ability to see these ideas through to their potential.

How does ODU view entrepreneurship?

ODU views entrepreneurship as something that everybody can do, as well as something that is interdisciplinary and diverse. ODU believes that entrepreneurship is not something that is limited to a limited number of individuals, but is something that anybody and everybody can achieve, regardless of their expertise. ODU encourages students of all professions to use the knowledge they gained in their discipline toward dynamic problem solving.

What is my role in this ecosystem?

Being a student who studies cybersecurity, I believe my role in this ecosystem of entrepreneurs is to pay special attention to how ideas are proposed in a technological sense and how technology can potentially enhance innovation. From my studies, I can already articulate how the Internet and computers can both influence and be influenced by new ideas. I can also consider how new technologies can be used for the betterment of society
