Reflection Essay: Research Progress & Collaboration
After our first meeting that took place on October 9th, as referenced in Reflection Essay 1, my team members and I got to work researching more about this innovation we planned to tackle, learning more about the data broking industry and the importance of data privacy. Although most of the research process was conducted individually amongst ourselves, we confided amongst each other in our GroupMe chat room whenever we reached a point where we needed to work together on a solution or decision. It was during this process that I realized just how important it is to work together, and how much effort we need to put into communication if we all wanted to be on the same track. We all asked each other many questions about our innovation, Eradicate, planning how exactly it would work and straightening out the specific details about it. At the same time, we were all working on our own proposal papers, which we shared with each other to ensure consistency. We were proud of ourselves for all the great ideas we were coming up with, and truly, this innovation was starting to look promising. Throughout the rest of October, we eagerly awaited our professor’s feedback on our proposals, which we received soon after submission. After thoroughly reviewing the feedback we received on our own proposal papers, we shared this feedback with each other, highlighting the areas we could improve before we began working on the big project; the Academic Paper. We discussed these improvements and agreed on all the points we would touch on in our papers so that once again, we would not stray from one another and would continue working as a whole team. During this process, we all worked together researching the many topics that surrounded this innovation and shared them with each other.
