1. Am I an entrepreneur?

According to Oxford languages, an entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business or business, taking on greater than normal financial risks to do so. It is also a person who is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services, and business/or procedures. So, am I an entrepreneur? Definitely not. Am I a potential entrepreneur? Totally. Since I am pursuing a “creation of new products” kind of degree, I can certainly be considered a potential entrepreneur.

2. What is success?

If we are talking about success in entrepreneurship, then I would say that a real entrepreneur is impossible to satisfy with just one accomplishment/goal. They are the breed of people driving by moving ahead of the rest of the world, so when people have a need, the entrepreneur is yet ready to satisfy this. Success is when you wake up every morning and are happy to do what you do. Success is not only about material satisfaction but spiritual as well. It is simply the motivation to do what you do and do better and bigger than you did yesterday.

3. Am I a self-starter? How well do I follow through on my ideas?

As for now, I would say that the lack of knowledge might be why I do not consider myself a self-starter yet. Self-starters who are imaginative, enterprising, creative, and risk-takers can act, think, and react like owners. All of those mentioned above will be useless without a strong knowledge foundation with massive room for improvement. Self-confidence and self-assuredness, and knowledge of your job and organization provide a great backdrop to taking that entrepreneurial risk.

4. How does ODU view entrepreneurship?

The ODU way:

ODU implemented a model that can be related to any kings of business. The first step there is to determine your Key partners. Who are your key partners/suppliers? Which key activities do they perform? The next step is to find out what type of activity your business serves. It is a product or a certain service, or maybe it is a platform or a network? Moving forward, we face a value proposition that is closely related to the previous step. Here we decide which one of our customer problems we are helping to solve. You have to choose a price area you want to work in regarding the service you offer. That is precisely what the next step is about—determining your relationship with the customer and the policy that you want to stick to. After finding the puzzles of the previous stamps, it would be easy to identify who your customers are and what prices look more realistic for this particular segment.

Along with the above mention comes cost structure, delivery method, etc.

The ODU module helps with the structure of your business model, which can seem very messy and frustrating in the beginning.

5. What is my role in this ecosystem?

I see myself somewhere in between builders and disruptors’ ecosystems. I’m always down to relieve my community by taking the least comfortable and somewhat risky responsibility. Yet, I also like doing a routine task that requires minimum creativity and maximum skills.
