Upon reflecting on my purchasing decisions, I am often influenced by a true sale offering a lower price on an item. However, I am hyperalert for a false or artificial scarcity. For example, I like using the Panera Bread app to place orders, but I absolutely despise when an offer is flashed in front of me with a 20 second countdown before the offer goes away. Unless I had already planned on getting the item it offered, I will absolutely not change my mind just on the principle because I feel like I am being over manipulated and taken advantage of.
