Technology like phones deviated people in the workplace can take pictures with the phone of files and then send them to whoever needs them. With some companies allowing their employees to bring their personal devices at work, these employees are able to take pictures or download important information to their own devices. Without a detection system, cameras, or security taking place of this happening, employees can go risk free obtaining information and then selling that information to an outside source. Workplace deviance could also not be on purpose an employee may use a site that isn’t in the manual and accidently download a virus that is stealing important information. If the employee is not propely trained or is aware of these threats that can negativily affect a business there is a high chance of them falling for a phishing email or call. Technology allows these people to go to untrusted sites and downloadable oftware that will also put the company at risk. Unrelated to taking information, technology has caused people to not use devices for work. They could be using it for social media and not actually working on what they need to do. It can slow down company production and producivity of individuals.
