All my life I was interested in working in the criminal justice field, but I didn’t want to end up just being an officer or join the military. I told one of my friends that last year and he introduced me to cybersecurity. When he told me I started researching about it and became very interested in it. I started taking cybersecurity classes and became very intrigued with it which got me interested in learning more. I think it is interesting because you can use cybersecurity along with really anything so it would open so many job opportunities. I also think it is interesting to learn about things that some people have no clue what is happening in the world like for example cyberattacks. A lot of people are clueless about what is happening in the world, so it is cool to learn about those things and possibly be able to prevent them. One thing that got me interested in it is that I always wanted to get a job in the government and make high-paying money and cybersecurity could get me there. I also realized that not too many women work in the cybersecurity field so I think it would be cool to get out there and possibly get more women involved in the field of cybersecurity. I have always had the rush of getting a high-paying government job and being able to have a high-security clearance and knowing things that others couldn’t, so I believe that is another thing that got me interested in this field. I don’t know too much overall about cybersecurity technology, but I am very intrigued to learn more about it. I think cybersecurity is just a good skill to have in life because you can protect yourself from technology issues. Cybersecurity can help protect our country in a way that I don’t have to be out in the field putting my life at risk.
