Ethics is a very useful thing to know. Ethics focuses on human behavior and whether it is good or bad in a situation. I believe ethics can correlate to anything and ethics works differently in certain aspects especially using technology. Multiple issues can be considered ethical and as I mentioned when working with technology issues do arise. When storing electronic information about an individual ethical issues can arise. Four ethical issues that could arise are security, confidentiality, inaccuracies, and implementation. Security is very important especially when it comes to information technology and cybersecurity. Security focuses on protecting an individual from danger like threats. There are different elements of security and those are vulnerability, threats, risks, exposure, countermeasure, and safeguard. Vulnerability is an important part of security because if someone is vulnerable, they are more likely to experience an attack. Confidentiality is another important part of storing information about an individual because not everyone needs to know everything, so it is better to keep issues secret. Confidentiality can cause ethical issues because problems may arise that could affect someone’s behavior. Confidentiality and security can also relate to each other because confidentiality relies on the security of something. These are two huge things in cybersecurity. The next ethical issue that could arise is inaccuracies because this can cause huge problems to arise in our world. When fake news is leaked it could cause people to act a certain way over something that isn’t even true. This can also pose a threat to our security. The fourth ethical issue that could arise is implementation. Implementation is very basic it is just implementing something. If something is implemented incorrectly it could lead to inaccurate information. These four ethical issues are very similar and can all be interrelated. A great example of this is the fact that we need to always strive to protect our security so confidential information does not get leaked. This shows us that if any of these issues do arise this could cause big problems in our society.
