Similar to the last discussion board we talked about technology, computers, and ways to stay safe well this discussion board is about how computers and/or technology have made the world safer and ways it has made it less safe. The first thing that computers have done that is a positive aspect of them is make improvements in things like GPS. Technology has made it more efficient to travel. We have apps like Waves that tell us where accidents and traffic are. These apps also show us the fastest way to get somewhere. Related to GPS and technology cars overall have made huge improvements because of technology. Nowadays we have aspects in our cars like backup cameras, a warning when to stop, and even possibly self-driving cars could be safer but that can be a controversial topic to some people. Another way computers have made the world safer is in industries like the health care systems. They used to have to log everything manually on paper and now they can log everything using a computer and now they can have someone’s information all in one place.  All technology has made it available to access more things like MRI scans and other medical information. The third way that computers have made the world safer would be being able to communicate with people more efficiently. Nowadays we can simply call or text someone very quickly in an emergency. Aspects like Siri make it easier to communicate with people. If you are in an emergency it is an easy call to 9-1-1 to get help. Now computers have made things safer but they also have made things less safe. The scariest thing about computers and technology is meeting people online. People decide to meet people online and go meet them in person and this is so unsafe to do especially if friends or family don’t know where you’re going or who you’re with. This is less safe because that person could hide behind a screen and end up being a murderer or kidnapper. Technology and computers also open people up to more threats and risks. Overall computers do make things more efficient. Computers have made the world a safer place but also have made it less safe.
