Similar to the last two discussion boards this discussion talks about safety again but this one is focused on how engineers make cyber networks safer. With any organization or network, one of the important things is making it safe for people to use. Authentication is an important thing to have. Authentication is the basic way of proving that someone says who they say they are. Multi-factor authentication is found in a lot of networks. Encryption is another way that engineers make networks safer. Encryption is the action of protecting data so people can have secure data. An important feature of a network that engineers use is firewalls. A firewall is kind of self-explanatory but it’s like an imaginary wall between internal and external networks. These firewalls can filter out any malicious activity. Training is a very important part of keeping networks safe. Any engineer trying to work for a cyber network has to have the appropriate training and background checks because they will have access to valuable information. Engineers can make networks safe by conducting annual checks of the programs as a whole. This will make sure the network is up to date. This can also make it easier to find ways to improve the network. Having safety measures in case like if a hacker can hack into the network. Having a plan of what to do can make the cyber network safer. Authentication, encryption, firewalls, training, background checks, annual program checks, and safety measures are many of the multiple ways engineers can keep cyber networks safer. It is important to keep these networks safe because it usually leads to the system of the entire organization.
