Reflection

My experience with this class was very mixed. Because of some hiccups early on in the class that made me stumble in learning the basics of the language which was not knowing we had to pay for our homework. But that was probably my fault because I was there at the information zoom class so I don’t know how i missed this. So early in the class i was doing decent in the quizzes with out doing the homework because i was reading the modules but this didn’t translate to the first two test making my grades slip. but i feel i rallied with the DB assignments & Flip Grids which is also my artifact of my little progress in learning the language. But lastly language has always been a big struggle for me to learn & I don’t believe I will ever be fluent or advanced but I will continue to try.

Exploring Culture

In this class I learned a few cultural differences in latin society. like the work atmosphere like the way they would separate work and life to keep things professional. I also learned the true purpose of a siesta in the society in latin countries like mexico etc.

Engaging in Communities

I think it’s important to be engaged in your communities so you can learn about the area and about yourself. Its always a good way to meet new people and makes an opportunity to improve the community.

Presentational Writing

For some reason I can read spanish way better than I can write spanish. So I have not found much improvement in that skill. I was told and also believe than my sentence structure needs more work.

Interpretive Reading

The hardest two things about this class for me was the first two flip grids, next was the amount of work in the lingro learning. Just the sheer amount of homework almost overwhelmed me to give up the class. although i don’t think my spanish improved from that home work that much but i can read or recognize written spanish better than before that skill helped me get through that. the first few flip grids i couldn’t decipher words that clearly but i was able to after relistening multiple times.
