I think the media influences our understanding of cyber security by dramatizing it. It is based off truth but It looks a lot cooler and active then it actually is. The trend also seems to make it look easier than it is. Main characters are always successful and brilliantly smart and can do ANYTHING with technology. Hacking is a trial and error that is not as fast or brilliant looking as the movies make it.
