Poetry/Song Analysis

Completing the poetry/song analysis assignment helped me learn how to interpret figurative language, themes, and analyze deeper meanings in the lyrics (SLO 2 & 3). I enjoyed the process of completing the assignment specifically because of how I connected the analysis to music I like, which made the learning feel more personal and engaging. It also made me realize that I’m actually getting better at breaking things down and explaining what I notice, instead of just saying whether I like a song or not.

Social Media Review

The social media review assignment helped me learn how to summarize the plot and themes clearly while evaluating critically and writing for a real audience (SLO 4). I also enjoyed it because it felt modern and creative, allowing me to express my reactions in a fun, familiar format. It also made me more attentive to how I communicate online in general, because I realized how much word choice and tone can shape the way people understand what I’m trying to say.
