About Me

My name is Dana Brown. I was born with cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus. Cerebral palsy is a muscular condition that makes ambulating difficult without canes. Additionally, my brain absorbs excess cerebral spinal fluid, which causes hydrocephalus. However, my conditions do not define my being. I volunteered at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters for four years, from 2018 to 2022, and I recently received the 2022 HealthcareHero Award. Finally, I am majoring in Health Administration services at at Old Dominion University and desire to use the knowledge that I acquire to communicate with patients and their families through the Healthcare system.
