The first essay was a eye opener me, mostly because I had never really looked deeply at how my school prepared its students. I had simply accepted it as fact that we weren’t seen as equal to the other high school in the county. This essay however, let me see just how hard the teachers and staff worked to try and help us, even when the county didn’t want to. As the physical writing goes it was a eye opener to just how differently college professors are going to grade our papers. I was never very good at writing, that was my sisters niche. I was good at public speaking, but I could never put my words onto paper. In high school I was able to slide by with a passing grade but it was still difficult. Here in college that will not fly. I’m definitely going to have to work harder than ever to be able to writing well enough to get a passing grade on the writing placement test. Overall the class is good because it provides a quiet place to write my essays and journals, that otherwise would be difficult to find at times. I feel like this class will be very beneficial to me in the long run, even if for me it is a difficult and boring  topic.
