Hello world! My name is Danielle Tayman. I am a current senior at Old Dominion University, majoring in Health Services Administration, and plan on graduating in December of 2024. Currently, I am interning at Chesapeake Care Clinic. This site will be all about my experience at my internship. Chesapeake Care Clinic is a free clinic located at 2145 S. Military Hwy, Chesapeake, VA 23320. They provide medical and dental care to those who are low-income and underinsured. They are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and they were established in 1992. Chesapeake Care Clinic is run by mostly volunteers. Last year, volunteers donated over 8,000 hours, valuing over $229,000. Their mission, according to their website, states the following “Chesapeake Care Clinic’s mission is to provide medical and dental services to low-income and underserved individuals in Hampton Roads in order to fulfill our vision to improve the quality of life in our community.” Their values are respect, compassion, integrity, excellence, stewardship, and teamwork.
