Cybersecurity is a growing field and has become popular over the years. We are currently living in a technology world and most things involve and are operated by computers. I have always been someone whose been interested in computers and cybersecurity so I figured that this would be the perfect major and career path for me to engage in. I understand that it is a very rewarding field and there will definitely be great jobs available for someone like me with hopes and plans of having a great career and future in cybersecurity. I have been a victim of cyber crime before, as well as many other individuals globally. One year online gaming networks were hacked by a cyber attack group known as lizard squad and it prevented millions of people from enjoying their gaming consoles one holiday season. I want to make a difference in the cyber world and defend cyber platform from attacks such as the gaming hack that affected Playstation and xbox players. In addition, I have also lost a laptop due to a virus. Studying cyber security will lead me to a better understanding of cyber issues, how to prevent them, and the proper way to operate cyber related electronics. To be completely honest, I feel that all individuals should study cybersecurity due to the fact that we use it on a daily basis and it is a huge part of our daily living. Individuals who study cybersecurity are doing themselves a favor whether they plan to pursue a career in it or not because it proves to be useful regardless. Knowledge is power and when one know what’s going on in the cyber world and knows how to deal with it, it can serve as an advantage and effective skill.
