The YouTube video provided was very interesting and showed how media presents cybersecurity. In these films shown you could see how the understanding of cybersecurity could be completely different to an individual who only knows of cybersecurity from films and one who is informed in the sciences. Cybersecurity and the actions of hacking are elements to a good portion of movies, there are films that represent cybersecurity very realistically and there are others that completely go off the rails and unrealistically represent cybersecurity practices. Hacking and other actions within cybersecurity are very interesting and catches the eye of audiences added with action, movies are very fast paced making the hacking and coding in movies seem like it is that easy in real life. Overall, the media influences our understanding about cybersecurity by showing us and providing what they want us to see and control the narrative.
