Below, I have included my three most marketable skills and their supporting artifacts. My three most marketable skills are Proficiency in Coding/Python, Work Ethic and Critical Thinking. These three skills are something I want to continue to build off of and define me. Which means the artifacts provided give a sense of the type of person I am within my work which I take a lot of pride in.
Proficiency in Coding/Python
Artifact 1: A project which I used python to create a trivia game on Current NFL Football Players that connects to a server. Once connected to the server it will ask you if you would like to begin, after the server will begin to ask questions about Football Players in the NFL and you have to answer with the correct team that the player asked currently plays for. This project was my final one and showed my skills come altogether and have a chance to show off what I learned from the class that semester.
Artifact 2: This was an assignment that I completed which consisted of me being given a file and I had to figure out the mistake in the coding and how to fix it. This assignment racked my brain and pushed me to use my problem solving skills in order to first find the error then two solve it.
Artifact 3: This assignment was my introduction to coding as it was my first assignment. I find this assignment important to me because it shows my progress and where I started from. It also shows me that I have so much more work to do which motivates me.
Work Ethic
The artifacts provided are pieces of work that I not only am proud of but spent a lot of time on. I like to give my all in everything I do or put my mind to.
Artifact 1: This piece of work was a Research paper I did that was the final project meaning I had to put my all into it. I also feel like this research paper gives a full recap of numerous Interdisciplinary theories and concepts I learned within the semester and applied them to a topic.
Artifact 2: The next artifact provided was another piece of work that took hours of research and work putting it all together. I had to pick a topic that I had no idea about previously and do a full case study. This included deep research on what took place, why it took place, and to take a position in what could of done differently than what the U.S government did. I had to put myself in the shoes of a professional reporter and fully break down the tragedy that took place making sure to not leave out a detail and link it to the people that were in the position to control what occurred and what they should of done differently to avoid this tradegy.
Artifact 3: This next artifact was an assignment I had to complete on a three different virtual machines to hack myself. I had to follow the instructions and figure out the coding that I needed to complete each task. This assignment was very hard for me and took hours of me reteaching myself the codes needed to complete this task.
Critical Thinking
Artifact 1: The first artifact is a career paper for a dream job. It is easy to say a job is your dream job, or a field of study is your favorite. It is more difficult to really put that dream into reality and in this instance, on paper. I had to use skills of critical thinking to fully put together a paper not only explaining a job that I would hope to have but what is included into that job.
Artifact 2: The second artifact includes a writing assignment I did that really pushed my critical thinking ability. I had to put myself in the shoes as if I was an aid to the governor writing a memo based on a situation I had to makeup that is realistic.
Artifact 3: In this assignment I had to act as an attacker to identify the vulnerabilities in the LAN network and a defender to apply proper countermeasures. I had to use Critical Thinking to put together what needed to be done to complete the task. All that I am given is the instructions on what needs to be completed then I am on my own.
