Meet Mike Lindskog
My sports penpal is Mike Lindskog. He is the Director of Public Relations or “The Voice of the Quakes” for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. They are the minor league affiliate of the LA Dodgers Mike has been in the Sports Communication field for over 20 years. He is originally from Spokane, Wash., and an alumnus of Eastern Washington University.
Why Mike?
I’m originally from Southern California and decided to reach out because of my hometown tie to the team. I found his email address on the Quakes website on the Front Staff page. I sent an email telling them who I was and that I wanted to establish a mentor relationship with him for some assignments for a Sports Comm class. He immediately agreed but said he would go on a trip “off the grid” for six weeks, and we had one week to get what I needed for the second assignment. I was very excited and agreed. I traded emails back and forth with him and will resume communication upon his return from the trip.
