Simply because the existence of technology itself causes another path for criminal activity. As technology advances workplace deviance becomes harder to detect and easier to perform. Being able to work in a cyber security position opens lots of paths, work from home, having access to tons of information, etc. It’s a golden ticket for those who want to be able to access unauthorized information and distribute it or use it in any way for their benefit. There is a lot to gain from getting into one of these positions, and more to gain from those who want to exploit it for their own benefits instead.
