My social media persona was created solely through my intrusive thoughts
about sports. I don’t really care for sports. I honestly didn’t know that
basketball games stopped at the second quarter unless it’s women’s basketball.
I did not have to fake my approach, honestly, it is how I am. I don’t care for
social media much, as I made a Twitter account solely for this class. My Twitter
bio literally says, "Here for the grade", as I am truly on the
platform for the grade for this class.
I live off memes and celebrity roasts-style tweets with a tad bit of sports.
Not too much though, as I truly do not care. I enjoy strategic communications
and it is interesting to see how sports play a part in it. I honestly have not
had a Twitter account since early college as it brought unnecessary drama and
racist posts. Although, Twitter during the Super Bowl was GOLDEN. The amount of
Usher and Alicia Keys memes was priceless as we all love a good drama-filled
picture.
My persona is not much forced, if you were to talk to me anytime about
sports, I would blurt out these exact tweets you see on my profile. Sometimes,
with sports, it feels as though there is a monkey in my brain banging cymbals. My
boyfriend plays a game every time I come over and I’m forced to watch it, as he
surfs Twitter as well to compound his viewing experience. He is the only reason
I learned that basketball only has 2 quarters unless it’s women’s basketball. I
guess my Twitter account exhibits a Gen Z woman who is not into sports but
loves to feel like I know what I’m talking about.
The Super Bowl uniforms were ugly, so I tweeted that. Someone has to tell the
truth.
