What is a SCADA System?
SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, and it is a software and hardware combination that allows companies to monitor and control industrial processes from afar.
Benefits
There are many benefits of SCADA systems, one of which is being able to have people monitor your systems constantly. And because you have someone constantly monitoring your systems, you will be able to detect any problem in the system. Then you will be able to fix the problem instantly, and not having to wait long helps your company because you don’t want to lose a lot of information.
Vulnerability in Critical Infrastructure Systems
Some of the vulnerabilities in Critical infrastructure systems were the lack of monitoring, which led to system failure and being hacked without knowing it. With SCADA systems, the constant monitoring makes it easier to detect this problem right when it happens and fix it. Another vulnerability is that they had a lot of human errors. With SCADA systems, most of it is automated, so it makes the information more accurate.
