My path into cybersecurity has been shaped by both academics and real-world experience, but also by the discipline I learned on the basketball court. Playing basketball taught me persistence, strategy, and leadership—skills that translate directly into how I approach challenges in technology. Just like on the court, where teamwork and focus decide the outcome, in cybersecurity, success comes from preparation, adaptability, and execution under pressure.

In college, I developed a strong foundation in cybersecurity concepts, from frameworks like NIST CSF to the study of how human behavior ties into crime and security risks. That classroom knowledge came to life when I began working with Microsoft. There, I gained hands-on experience across multiple areas—applications, hardware, networking, cabling, and even database support. What I studied in theory, I was able to apply in practice, connecting the academic with the professional.

This blend of experiences taught me that cybersecurity is not just technical—it requires leadership, teamwork, and resilience. Whether leading on the basketball court or managing tasks in a professional IT setting, I’ve learned how to motivate myself and others, adapt to challenges, and finish strong.
