I am familiar with tying together various concepts to decipher, or trouble shoot a problem. Having come from a personal training and intelligence analysis background, I find analyzing to be more in line with my current skill set. I have done nearly all aspects of the analyze specialty areas at some point in my work history. As a personal trainer I routinely performed a needs analysis on clients to avoid contraindications and guide them on a path to the most effective routines based on there ability levels. My clients tend to have medical complications which forced me to lean heavily into the scholarly articles for evidence-based practices and interventions. This was a variation of Exploitation and Threat Analysis.
During my time in the Air Force, I used a multitude of programs and systems to analyze metadata and make reports and products on my findings. Another interesting aspect of my time in the military was scheduling personnel to missions. While note nearly as intense as intelligence processing, there were aspects of complexity that made it interesting. With over 600 personnel, it became a bit of a juggling act to ensure leave requests, training, qualifications, etc. are accounted for and proper replacements were notified and in place prior to publication of the schedule. These jobs incorporated Targets, Language Analysis, and All-Source Analysis.
What I am intrinsically interested in however, is the Investigation category specialty areas of Cyber Investigation and Digital Forensics. I am accustomed to processes and procedures which I believe investigate requires but I am also keen on abstract thinking and problem solving. Finding the question to the answer, and vice versa, drives me to learn more and become better.
The category that I have a least interest in currently is Oversee and Govern due in part to my level of knowledge and practical skills. I have no doubt that as I mature in the field that I will become a leader in cybersecurity.
