SPAN 102

Exploring Culture
While completing assignments in LingroHub there were assignments where I needed to look up information about Spanish speaking countries and compare what I have learned to life in the United States. For these assignments I compared the USA and Spain. There were many similarities between the two nations; but cultural there were many differences; like the holidays (and food associated with those holidays), and sports that were the most popular.

During Spanish 102 I learned about Preterite irregular verbs, Present, Reflexive, and Past tense verbs; as well as formal commands, and vocabulary on the topics of health and wellbeing, food, occupations, family members, sports and activities, parts of the body, and more.

The present progressive tense describes an action and underscores the notion that the action is in progress at the time a statement is being made.

The preterite is one of two past tense formations in Spanish. It is used to talk about actions or states that were completed in the past.

Both saber and conocer mean “to know” but they are not interchangeable. Both verbs have irregular forms in the first person singular “yo” forms. The other forms follow regular -er conjugation. Use the personal “a” when conocer is followed by a person or pet. Saber- to know facts and things; to know how to do something, a skill. Conocer- to be familiar or acquainted with people, places or things.
